These focused programs allow children and teenagers to understand that architecture is all around them. While education in architecture can lead one down many paths, enrolling in an architecture summer program doesn't necessarily mean one must pursue it as a career choice. Having an academic background in architecture can offer a valuable set of skills that can be applied to those interested in pursuing a career in architecture and professions outside of the industry as well, as highlighted in our Working Out of the Box series. To kick things off, this first installment lists courses, programs, and workshops for young minds ready to discover architecture's basics. For the 2023 summer season, Archinect highlights programs that could be the perfect fit for the budding architect or designer in your life. If a camp is cancelled, paid participants will have the choice of a full refund or to transfer into another open enrollment camp.Are you a parent looking for fun and stimulating spring and summer programs to keep your young ones busy? Or are you a high school student interested in exploring the world of architecture and getting college credit? As we enter the spring season and with summer just around the corner, there are plenty of architecture-focused programs young designers can explore in the coming months. The camps may be cancelled without prior notice due to enrollment numbers. Registration implies acknowledgement and agreement to student participation in online surveys and potential interviews for Aggie STEM research and consent for use of pictures for promotional purposes. Cancellation Policy: Aggie STEM has a no refund policy for participant cancellation for all camps. A sample schedule for this camp can be found here. Sample classes and activities are given as examples based on prior camps. Activities vary based on faculty availability and lab space. This camp is first come-first served and is geared toward students entering 6th–8th grade for the 2023–2024 school year. You will also tour various STEM labs on the TAMU campus. If you are a middle school student with a growing interest in STEM topics, then this camp is for you!
